Health and Social Care Partnership Chief Officer to retire

After almost 40 years of public service Jacquie Pepper, Chief Officer/Director - Integrated Health and Social Care for Perth and Kinross has announced her decision to retire in April 2026.

Recruitment to the post, which is undertaken jointly by partners Perth and Kinross Council and NHS Tayside, will take place in the coming weeks.

Jacquie was appointed to the Chief Officer role in May 2022 having previously held roles as Depute Director of Education and Children's Services and Head of Children, Young People and Families. She also held the statutory role of Chief Social Work Officer for the Council from 2017 until April 2024. Before joining PKC Jacquie was Head of Inspection at the Care Inspectorate after a period as senior inspector with HM Inspectorate of Education.

Through her steadfast belief in the importance of social work and the strength of collaboration, Jacquie has led the development of services that truly put people first and offer crucial support to those who need it most."

NHS Tayside Chief Executive Nicky Connor said, "Jacquie has brought both a wealth of experience and an unwavering determination to do her best for the people of Perth and Kinross in her role as Chief Officer of the Health and Social Care Partnership. Her long career dedicated to public service in Scotland is testament to her desire to always make things better for the people that she serves.

"She has played a pivotal role in steering health and social care services, both in Perth & Kinross and across Tayside, to help ensure that services are tailored and responsive to the needs of our local communities.
 "Jacquie is a valued and trusted colleague and therefore, on behalf of the Board of NHS Tayside, I'd like to thank her. We are all going to miss her very much."

Jacquie Pepper said: "It has been the privilege of my career to work alongside so many dedicated colleagues and partners in Perth and Kinross. Perth and Kinross stands out as compassionate, caring and full of courageous staff and partners making a positive difference for the people of Perth and Kinross every day. I am proud of the vital work of our teams, and I am confident that the HSCP will continue to be well supported in the future."
