"Unfortunately, Scone Park and Ride will close from 1 February 2026. We're looking at where recycling and EV facilities currently at the site can be relocated to and we welcome the early conversations that have already taken place between ward members and Scone & District Community Council to provide local feedback on possible alternative locations.
"We are engaging with Stagecoach about the impact this has on the service 57/57A which currently stops at the site, and we will work with them to ensure information is shared in plenty of time with the local community about changes to the timetable/stops for the route.
"While we have worked with the landowner over a number of years to establish this park and ride site, recent conversations to formalise the arrangements in place have unfortunately been unable to find a solution which offers best value for public money, which means we are unable to retain the facilities on their land.
"We would also like to draw residents' attention to an upcoming unrelated piece of work which will restrict access to the park and ride site temporarily for approximately two weeks from Tuesday 2 December 2025. Essential road resurfacing works will be carried out on the A94 Angus Road, Scone between Stormont Road and the New Kingsway (A9294) roundabout during this time and will require the park & ride site to be closed while the works are in progress."
