Support and how to become a funded provider - 1140 hours

Perth and Kinross Council works with a number of private, non-profit and third sector nurseries and childminders to deliver funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC). Through these partnerships families can access the flexible, affordable and quality ELC that best meets the needs of their child.

As per Scottish Government Guidance all of our partners must meet the National Standard (Funding follows the child and the national standard for early learning and childcare providers) and be registered with the Care Inspectorate.

Perth and Kinross Council has developed a two-stage tender process which aligns with both Funding Follows the Child policy guidance and procurement requirements. The purpose of the application process is to seek information to assure the Council that the applicant is able to deliver high quality early learning and childcare and met all 10-criterion outlined in Funding Follows the Child. Stage One of the process can be accessed and completed anytime during the year however Stage Two will open annually in January for partnership from April and again in October for partnership in January the following year.

Perth and Kinross Council are using Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) and Public Contracts Scotland - Tender (PCS-Tender) to procure early learning and childcare services.

If you are a childcare provider and would like further information on the process including how to access Stage One, please contact elc@pkc.gov.uk for further information.
