Building Standards best value & performance
Providing a quick response to Building Warrant applications is a key requirement for our customers but overall performance is set within a wider context.
To provide a consistent measure of performance of verifiers across Scotland a performance framework (PF) was developed jointly by the Scottish Government and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS). This introduced a series of 9 key performance outcomes (KPO's) one of which requires all verifiers to submit detailed quarterly reports.
Quarterly performance reports
As noted above we, as the Verifier appointed by the Scottish Government for Perth & Kinross, submit a quarterly report detailing our performance against the key outcomes. A summary of our most recent results are included in this 2017-18 Q4 Performance Report [76Kb].
Customer Charter standards
Included in the KPO's is a requirement for us to publish a Customer charter [209Kb] which includes a number of in-house service standards. Our In-house performance report [71Kb] against these standards is routinely monitored.
Feedback on how you feel we have performed is very important and we would encourage you to complete this brief Building Standards customer survey. The survey is totally anonymous although you can ask for feedback if you prefer.
Some of you may also participate in the national survey run by the Scottish Government which is considerably more detailed. The 2017 National Survey Report [174Kb] summarises the findings and compares our performance against the Scottish average.
Best value and continuous improvement
Our Building Standards Annual Performance Report [2Mb] explains our roles and responsibilities, both legislatively and in performance terms. It also outlines improvement actions we intend implementing and is updated quarterly in line with the submission of the performance reports.
