Building Standards best value & performance

Responding quickly to Building Warrant applications is a key requirement for our customers but overall performance is set within a wider context.

Performance Framework

The initial performance framework (PF) was developed by the Scottish Government and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS). This comprises a series of key performance outcomes (KPO's) which provide a consistent measure of the work of verifiers across Scotland.

The PF was subsequently updated and the latest version can be viewed on the Scottish Government or the LABSS websites.

Quarterly performance reports

As a Verifier appointed by the Scottish Government we are required to submit to them a quarterly report detailing our performance against the key outcomes. A summary of our most recent results are included in this  icon Q3 Performance Report 2017-18 [76Kb].

Customer Charter standards

In addition to Key Performance Outcomes, our icon Customer charter [209Kb] includes a number of in-house service standards. Our icon In-house performance report [71Kb] against these standards is routinely monitored 

Customer surveys

By completing our short Building Standards customer survey you can quickly and easily have your say on how well we are performing. Obtaining the views of our customers is vitally important to help us fully understand what is working well and where we can improve, helping to shape future service delivery.

Annually the Scottish Government run a more comprehensive national survey. The icon 2016 National Survey Report [174Kb] summarises the findings and compares our performance to the Scottish average.

Best value and continuous improvement

Our PKC Building Standards Annual Performance Report  explains our roles and responsibilities, both legislatively and in performance terms. It also outlines improvement actions we intend implementing and is updated quarterly in line with the submission of the performance reports.
