Peep - learning together programme

A weekly session which supports parents/carer and their children to learn together while having fun.

Who should apply? 

Parents or carers of babies and children looking to have fun learning together. 

What is Peep? 

Peep is an early learning project which celebrates parents and carers as children's first educators while promoting the home learning environment.  The programmes offer parents and carers the opportunity to share experiences and ideas in a safe and supported environment. 

We offer 3 programmes, Antenatal, Baby and Toddler Peep.  Our Early Years Family Learning Practitioners based in PKC nurseries also offer pre-school and transition peep to support children's transition into nursery and school. 

Baby and Toddler Peep 

Our Baby and Toddler Peep programmes offer fun and informal sessions for parents/carers and babies up to age 1 year or toddlers age 1-2 years. 

Each week we cover a different topic from one of the following strands of learning and development:

  • personal, social and emotional development
  • communication and language
  • early literacy
  • early maths
  • health and physical development

 

Preschool Peep 

Our Pre-school programme is suitable for children attending nursery aged 2-5 years. 

Each week we cover a different topic from one of the following strands of learning and development: 

  • personal, social and emotional development 
  • communication and language 
  • early literacy 
  • early maths 
  • health and physical development 

 

Transition Peep 

Our Transition Peep programme is suitable for children getting ready to transition either into nursery or school.  

Each week helps to familiarise children with their new environment and learn the skills required for their new setting.  

 

What can I expect from the programme? 

Baby and Toddler

Sessions runs term time in venues across Perth and Kinross, each weekly 1 hour session includes: 

  • singing & rhyme time 
  • story time 
  • talk time for parents 
  • ideas for fun play activities which enhance children's learning

 

Preschool Peep 

This programme is run by the Early Years Family Learning Practitioners and is run either in your local nursery or community.  Groups running may vary in terms of length of session and duration of the programme. 

Transition Peep 

This programme is run by the Early Years Family Learning Practitioners and is run in your local nursery or School.  Groups running may vary in terms of length of sessions and duration of the programme. 

 

How to apply

Baby and Toddler Peep 

You can apply by completing an  Application Form (PDF, 94 KB) and returning it by email to Parenting@pkc.gov.uk

Parents can apply individually or applications can be submitted by anyone who works with a child or family.

Preschool and Transition Peep 

Please contact your Early Years Family Learning Practitioner based in your nursery for further information, alternatively you can contact our team for further information by emailing Parenting@pkc.gov.uk.​​​​​​​ or calling 01738 477697.
