Due to Emergency Gas Works requiring to be undertaken on Glasgow Road at Necessity Brae it will be necessary for the junction of Oakbank Place to be closed.
As a result of these emergency works a full closure of Oakbank Place between Glasgow Road and Oakbank Road will be required. This closure will be put in place on Friday, 09 May 2025 at 09.00 hours. The closure will remain in place until the gas escape has been identified and fully repaired so a completion date is not known at this time.
As a result it will be necessary to divert a number of Stagecoach Services:
Stagecoach Service 8. Journeys will operate as normal on Glasgow Road until the Lovat Hotel. All journeys will then divert via Viewlands Road to join the normal route on Viewlands Road West. Journeys returning into Perth City Centre will require to divert from Oakbank Road via Fairies Road, and Viewlands Road. Please note that all bus stops on the lower section of Oakbank Road, Oakbank Place, Necessity Brae, Braeside Gardens and Murray Place will be unable to be served by Stagecoach Service 8 during these works.
Stagecoach Service 58A. Journeys to Perth Academy will divert from Glasgow Road via Viewlands Road, Fairies Road, to reach Oakbank Crescent. Journeys will leave Oakbank Crescent via Murray Place to reach Glasgow Road.
Journeys serving Perth High School and Perth Academy. Stagecoach Services 8S, 11, 16, 17 and 65 will require to divert in the afternoons via Fairies Road and Viewlands Road.
Please also note Stagecoach Service 7/7A/7B and Docherty's Midland Coaches Service 19/19A may also be subject to delays as a result of these works.
