Due to a number of road closures in place within Perth City Centre between Friday 21st November and Sunday 23rd November 2025 it will be necessary to alter the route and pick up points of a large number of Local Bus Services.
Perth will be holding its annual Christmas Light Switch on event between Friday, 21st and Sunday 23rd November 2025.
As a result there will be impact on a number of local bus services and express coach journeys operating in the Perth City Centre area. A summary of the changes is shown below:
Friday, 21st November 2025 (All Day)
Perth Bus Station - Stagecoach Services 56/56A, and X56 will operate revised pick up and drop off points in Perth City Centre with Perth Bus Station not being served. Please see separate news article on these changes.
Friday, 21st November 2025 (From 12.00 Noon) - Tay Street Closure
To allow for the set up of the main stage there will be a requirement for Tay Street to be closed from Perth Bridge to Queens Bridge.
Passengers wishing to use Stagecoach Service 3/3A/11/12 are advised that buses will not operate via High Street and George Street on returning to Perth City Centre. Passengers can board/alight these services on Kinnoull Street (Stop H) during this time.
Passengers wishing to travel from Tay Street on Stagecoach Services 11/11s/16 are advised that buses will not operate via Tay Street and will instead use Perth Bridge to access Gowrie Street. Passengers can board these services on Mill Street outside Perth Concert Hall during this time.
Saturday, 22nd November 2025 (All Day) - Mill Street and Tay Street Closure
During the main Christmas event the whole of Mill Street and Tay Street will be closed all day.

High Street/George Street - Passengers wishing to use Stagecoach Service 3/3A/11/12 are advised that buses will not operate via High Street and George Street on returning to Perth City Centre. Passengers can board/alight these services on Kinnoull Street (Stop H) during this time.
Mill Street/Tay Street - Passengers wishing to travel from Tay Street on Stagecoach Services 11/16 are advised that buses will not operate via Tay Street and will instead use Perth Bridge to access Gowrie Street. Passengers can board these services on Kinnoull Street (Stop H) for Service 11 and Mill Street (Stop F) for Service 16.
Mill Street at Concert Hall - Passengers are advised that this stop will be closed.
Passengers wishing to use Stagecoach Service 3/3A/11/12 are advised to board these services on Kinnoull Street (Stop H).
Passengers wishing to travel on Stagecoach Service 7/7A should make their way to Mill Street (Stop G),
Passengers wishing to travel on Stagecoach Strathtay Services 57/57A/58/58A are advised to make their way to South Methven Street at St Pauls to board their bus.
During this closure all buses will be diverted and will use Kinnoull Street, Atholl Street, and Charlotte Street to reach Perth Bridge.
Sunday, 23nd November 2025 (All Day) - Mill Street Closure
During the main Christmas event the whole of Mill Street will be closed all day.
High Street/George Street - Passengers wishing to use Stagecoach Service 11A are advised that buses will not operate via High Street and George Street on returning to Perth City Centre.
Mill Street at Concert Hall - Passengers are advised that this stop will be closed.
Passengers wishing to travel on Stagecoach Service 7A should make their way to Mill Street (Stop G),
Passengers wishing to use Stagecoach Service 11A are advised to board these services on Kinnoull Street (Stop H).
Passengers wishing to travel on Stagecoach Service 16B should make their way to Mill Street (Stop F),
Passengers wishing to travel on Stagecoach Strathtay Services 57/57A/58 are advised to make their way to South Methven Street at St Pauls to board their bus.
During this closure all buses will use Kinnoull Street, Atholl Street, and Charlotte Street to reach Perth Bridge/Tay Street.
During this weekend it is expected that all services in the City Centre will be subject to delays and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience these changes or delays may cause.
