We are delighted that Perth was granted city status to mark Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
Perth is a thriving and dynamic city, with a fascinating history, welcoming community and a vibrant environment. Our bid, which was submitted at the end of May 2011, set out how Perth is ready to reclaim its rightful place as a city.
Our bid had wide support from many residents, businesses, the local media, celebrities and politicians. Thank you to everyone who supported the bid.
