Parental Involvement Strategy

The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 set out the legal requirements for the establishment for Parent Councils.  It also includes a legal duty for all Local Authorities to produce a Parental Involvement Strategy.

The Lifelong Learning Committee of Perth & Kinross Council approved the Parental Involvement and Engagement Strategy (PDF, 334 KB) and Parents as Partners Leaflet (PDF, 2 MB) for parents which complements the full strategy document.  This is currently being reviewed to take account of the Covid pandemic and the response to the 2022 biennial parent survey.

These set out the Council's policy to support effective parental involvement in Perth and Kinross Schools through the representation of parents, the building of home/school partnerships and the involvement of parents supporting their child's learning at home.

If you want to be involved in your child's education contact your child's school for more information.
