Futures for Families is joint funded by Perth and Kinross Council and the Scottish Government in the effort to tackle child poverty.
The Futures for Families programme offers a tailored package of support to eligible parents. Whether a client is in, or out of work, they will receive relevant assistance to progress, with the ultimate aim of securing well paid, highly skilled employment.
Support can be offered to parents in one or more of the following categories:
- Lone Parents
- Parent or child with a disability
- 3+ children
- Minority Ethnic
- Youngest child is under a year old
- Parents aged under 25
This programme offers registered parents:
- Elev8 Training Grant (up to £3,500) - in-work support to progress, in the form of a skills and training grant
- Subsidised costs towards travel
- Clothing grants for interviews / entering new employment
- Digital Support Grant (£400) - towards the costs of a device/connectivity/data
- Self-Employment Grant (£3,000)
- Childcare costs (up to £3,000) - for the first 3 months whilst moving into work

Community drop-in clinics
We currently run a number of drop-in clinics throughout Perth and Kinross:
- Letham - Letham4All Hub, 10am to 3pm every Tuesday/Wednesday
- Letham - Next Steps 4 All at the Letham4All Hub, midday to 4pm on the last Tuesday of the month
- Rattray - Community Connect, 10am to 2pm every Wednesday
- Coupar Angus - Strathmore Community Hub, 9am to midday every Thursday
- Crieff - Strathearn Community Campus, 10am to 1pm every Thursday
We also run specific drop-in clinics for parents with disabilities:
- Perth - Pullar House, 10am to 2pm, on the first and third Tuesday of the month
- Letham - Letham4All Hub, 10am to 2pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month
- Rattray - Community Connect, 10 am to 2pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month
- Coupar Angus - Strathmore Community Hub, 10am to 2pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month
- Crieff - Crieff Connexions, 10am to 2pm on the first Thursday of the month
- Pitlochry - Pitlochry Library, 10am to 2pm on the second Thursday of the month
- Kinross - Loch Leven Community Campus, midday to 4pm on the third Thursday of the month
- Dunkeld - Craigvinean GP Surgery, 10am to 2pm on the fourth Thursday of the month
