Skills Passport Training Grant

Funded grant to access training to enhance your chances of sustainable employment and business opportunities.

The grant offers financial support for training courses which are unobtainable by any other means. The aim is to support individuals with their journey back into employment or to upskill and improve their employment opportunities. This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. 

What funding is available?

Skills Passport grants pay for certificated, industry-led, vocational training costs up to £2,500.

Who is eligible to apply for funding?

All residents in Perth and Kinross are eligible to apply, so long as they are currently unemployed or looking to upskill due to low income or limited working hours.  You must also have right to work in the UK and have lived within Perth & Kinross for the past 3 months or more.  Completed applications must include evidence to support eligibility and are reviewed by an independent panel of assessors.

Evidence required

Documentation required (one from each list): 

  1. Proof of address - such as a utility bill, council tax letter or driving licence. 
  2. ID - such as a passport, driving licence or birth certificate. 
  3. Proof of unemployment or proof of earnings - such as JSA award letter, screenshots of Universal Credit award or payslips from the past 3 months.
  4. A current CV.

All applicants will be required to register with our Employment Support Advisor in the first instance, who will support with the application, training needs and support into employment after the training has ended.
