We will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the A94 Angus Road, Scone from Tuesday 2 December 2025 for up to two weeks, weather permitting.
The works will be taking place on the section of Angus Road between Stormont Road and the A9294 (New Kingsway) roundabout. Due to their nature, a full road closure will be in place throughout the works including evenings and at weekends, to help ensure the resurfacing is carried out as safely and efficiently as possible. On-street parking and loading will also be suspended.
The official diversion route will be via the A93, A9294 and the A94, and vice versa. Local access into Scone will be maintained via Stormont Road. Parking and loading will also be suspended along the diversion route, but only at pinch points to keep local traffic moving. Temporary traffic lights may also be used at the A93/Scone Brae junction if required at peak times to help with vehicle movements. (Please see the diagram below showing the extents of the works area and the official diversion routes.)

Unfortunately, the Scone Park and Ride service will be out of use for the full period of the works. There will also be some changes to local bus services: during the closure, all Stagecoach Service 57/57A journeys will be affected and will not serve A94/Scone to Perth (Strathmore Street). These services will divert via the A94 - New Kingsway - A93 to Bridgend, Perth.
Passengers wishing to travel on Service 57/57A, should make their way to Bridgend in Perth or the New Kingsway near the A94 roundabout where temporary stops will be placed.
Stagecoach Services 3 & 7 will operate as normal for connections to/from Scone with Service 57/57A at Bridgend, Perth.
School Contracts XSB/006 and XSB/011 will be operating a diverted route, and parents/carers have been provided the updated timetables directly from their child's school.
Vehicle access to properties within the works area will be maintained when the works allow and it is safe to do so. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee immediate entrance to or exit from properties due to excavations and hot road materials being used. Traffic management staff will be on site during working hours to help with residential access.
Pedestrian and emergency services access will be maintained throughout the works. Bins should be presented as normal on your scheduled waste collection days.
We would like to thank residents, businesses and motorists for their patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.
