Due to road closures on two sections of the A924 at the north side of Pitlochry, local bus services and express services will be unable to operate their normal routes in and out of Pitlochry from Monday, 20 April until Friday, 8 May 2026 (Monday to Friday only) between the hours of 0900 and 1530 each day.
Phase 1 - A924 Atholl Road (Dysart Brae to Larchwood Road), Pitlochry
Monday 20 April for 6 weekdays - 9am to 3.30pm each day
Elizabeth Yule Service 82
1240 departure from Pitlochry to Kinloch Rannoch - this journey will operate to West End Car Park as normal then divert via Atholl Road, Bridge Road, Foss Road, A9, slip onto B8019 to continue its normal route.
0955 and 1355 departures from Kinloch Rannoch to Pitlochry - these journeys will operate to Faskally, A924, slip onto A9, A9, Foss Road, Bridge Road, Atholl Road, turn at West End Car Park and continue normal route.
Elizabeth Yule Service 87
0955 and 1210 departures from Pitlochry to Old Struan - these journeys will operate to West End Car Park as normal then divert via Atholl Road, Bridge Road, Foss Road, A9, slip onto B8019 to continue normal route.
1035 and 1305 departures from Old Struan to Pitlochry - these journeys will operate to Faskally, A924, slip onto A9, A9, Foss Road, Bridge Road, Atholl Road, turn at West End Car Park and continue normal route.
Passengers are advised that they can continue to board and alight Services 82 and 87 at the normal Pitlochry town centre bus stops.
The bus stops on the A924 at and opposite Dysart Brae and at and opposite Clunie Bridge Road will be out of use.
Phase 2 - A924/A9 Slip, Pitlochry
Tuesday 28 April for 9 weekdays- 9am to 3.30pm each day
During phase 2 of the closure, Elizabeth Yule Services 82 and 87 will divert the same way as Phase 1 apart from southbound journeys operating into Pitlochry. These will operate as follows:
Service 82 southbound - these journeys will operate as normal to Garry Bridge, they will then operate via the B8079, Killiecrankie, Aldclune, slip onto A9 south, A9, Foss Road, Bridge Road, Atholl Street. Faskally will not be served.
Service 87 southbound - these journeys will operate as normal to Blair Atholl, they will then operate via the B8079, slip onto A9 south, A9, Foss Road, Bridge Road, Atholl Street. Killiecrankie and Faskally will not be served. Passengers are advised to board Service 87 when the bus is operating northbound.
Express Bus Services
During Phases 1 and 2 all Ember journeys which operate between 09.00am and 3.30pm will not serve Pitlochry. Please contact Ember directly for further information.
During Phases 1 and 2 all FlixBus and Scottish Citylink journeys which operate between 09.00am and 3.30pm will divert via the A9 and enter and exit Pitlochry from the south. Journeys will continue to serve the bus stops at and opposite Fishers Hotel.
All bus services will operate their normal routes in and out of Pitlochry out with the closure times and at weekends.
