A spectacular celebration of motoring heritage will take place in Perth on Saturday 30 May 2026, bringing iconic vehicles, classic cars and family-friendly attractions to the city from 10am to 3pm.
On Saturday 30 May 2026, Tay Street and Perth city centre will host a vibrant open-air display of vintage Fords and a wide range of classic vehicles. Free to enter and suitable for all ages, the display is a highlight of the Perthshire events calendar and a popular draw for visitors and motoring enthusiasts.
One of the standout attractions at this year's event is the iconic 1993 Benetton B193B Formula 1 car, a landmark example of early 1990s F1 engineering. Designed by renowned engineers Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne, and driven by Michael Schumacher and Riccardo Patrese, the car played a crucial role in Benetton securing third place in the Constructors' Championship. Its innovative high nose design and advanced active suspension marked a significant step forward in Formula 1 technology.
Powered by a Ford Cosworth V8 engine, the B193B is lightweight, agile and widely regarded as a symbol of a golden era in Formula 1 racing. As the only fully running Benetton B193B still in existence, its appearance at the event offers a rare opportunity for visitors to see a true motorsport legend up close and experience a piece of racing history in the heart of Perth.
Alongside the Formula 1 car, the event also features the much-loved Batmobile, adding a fun and instantly recognisable attraction for younger visitors and Batman fans of all ages. With its bold design and pop culture appeal, the Batmobile is a firm favourite with families, offering photo opportunities and a touch of movie magic that makes the event just as exciting for children as it is for classic car and motorsport enthusiasts.
Across both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, a free vintage bus service runs throughout the day between Mill Street, Perth and Perth Airport, giving visitors easy access to Morris Leslie's private classic car collection. Entrance to the collection will require a donation to a local charity of £10.00 per adult (16+), £5.00 per child (5-15 years). Under 5s are free.
Provost of Perth and Kinross, Xander McDade said: "This event is a fantastic showcase for Perth, bringing together world-famous vehicles, local heritage and a lively city centre atmosphere.
"It offers something for everyone, from families enjoying a free day out to enthusiasts seeing truly iconic cars up close.
"With the added excitement of the F1 Legend and the popular Batmobile, the Classic Car Weekend promises a great day out for families, visitors and anyone looking to enjoy Perth at its best."
