The Council has a legal duty to monitor and regulate where necessary various aspects of the immediate environment which could have a direct effect on the health and safety of its citizens or visitors to the area and due to the nature of this work partnership has long been a feature for this section.
Where formal enforcement action is considered in respect of any legal breaches the sanctions applied will be those detailed in the individual enforcement policies operated by each section. These policies have been prepared using the guidance contained within the Service's Charter for Good Regulation which was approved by the Community Safety Committee on the 24th of March 2010. Food safety
The work of the Food Safety Team covers a wide range of food related issues to protect the health of all consumers living in, working in, or visiting Perth and Kinross.
