Note: Please be advised that commercial skip hire with the Council is outwith the scope for VAT purposes, however, domestic skip hire is chargeable at the standard rate of VAT.
We can offer skip hire for a number of different materials - black bag general waste, bulky general waste, waste upholstered domestic seating (WUDS) bulky waste, inert waste, timber waste, metal waste, garden waste, mixed plastics and tins waste, and also food waste.

Pricing
Quotes issued include delivery, removal and 7-day hire of the skip. The delivery and removal price is determined by the distance from our Friarton Depot. Prices are exclusive of VAT and final disposal.
Commercial accounts are available upon request and contract.

What is the estimated cost for disposing of one tonne of black bag waste (within 5 miles of Friarton)?
- £39.00 covers delivery, uplift, and a 7‑day hire of a 16 cubic yard skip.
- £146.80 per tonne for black bag waste (content weighed at depot, and the total weight is charged at this rate). For example: if the skip contains 2 tonnes, the waste cost would be £293.60 (2 x £146.80).
- Estimated total cost for 1 tonne: £185.80 (£39.00 skip hire plus £146.80 waste disposal).
How much notice is required?
This will be discussed at point of first enquiry. We aim to get the skip delivered and removed in a timely manner.
Notes on the use of skips
- Skips must be level-loaded at all times.
- Paint, asbestos and fluorescent light tubes are expressly forbidden as these are classed as hazardous waste.
- Soil and earth disposal may limit the size of skip due to weight restrictions.
