Landlord change of circumstances

If you are a landlord or a managing agent for a dwelling within the Perth & Kinross Council area, you must notify us when either a tenancy ends, or a new tenancy commences.

Before you begin

Before completing the online form, it is important you have all of the relevant details to hand. We will also ask you to upload documentary evidence, if possible, to confirm the details. This will ensure we are able to update our records accurately, apply the correct charges and confirm that the correct person is liable for Council Tax.

You will need:

  1. The full name(s) of the tenant(s)
  2. Their previous or forwarding address, if known
  3. A copy of the signed tenancy agreement, if possible
  4. Evidence of the property being furnished or unfurnished between tenancies i.e. photographs, property schedules

Notify us of a tenancy change

Alternatively, if you are unable to complete our online application, please download and complete the icon Notification of Tenancy Change [149Kb] or telephone the Local Taxes team on 01738 477430.

Please be aware that if you are notifying the office of a retrospective tenancy, before any amendments can be made we may require a copy of the customer's signed lease, evidence of rental payments and any other supporting documentation you can provide to support the tenancy details. We may therefore contact you to ask for further documentary evidence. If this is not supplied, and we are unable to amend our records, you may be held responsible for the Council Tax charge.
