The HSE scheme is operated by the parenting team to support families with young children where there is an identified safety issue.
The scheme can be accessed by practitioners across sectors and services on behalf of families residing within Perth and Kinross: all equipment is allocated via a referral system. The equipment currently available is stair gates and home safety packs.
Families should speak to their Health Visitor, Social Work or other support worker to access this service.
To apply for equipment the practitioner should download and submit a home safety application form (PDF) [143KB] ; resources will only be approved once a completed application has been received. The service is targeted to those families most in need who would be unable to address an identified safety risk.
Please note that in line with BS EN Standard 1930:2000 we are unable to authorise the allocation of safety gates to families where there is not a child under the age of 36 months.
