Costs of the award

Each participant must pay a 'Participation Place' fee at each level - a central cost stipulated by The DofE.

The cost includes insurance through The DofE.

The costs for participation may be greater in some centres/groups as they include administrative costs or costs relating to the Expedition section (for travel/kit etc) but these additional costs should be explained by each centre in advance.

Costs may vary depending on the participant's choice of activities - and they should be supported to choose activities within their means or to secure funding support or sponsorship or to take part in fundraising if necessary.
