Tayside & Central Scotland Transport Partnership (Tactran), working with its partner councils in Perth & Kinross, Angus, Dundee and Stirling, have rebranded the Thistle Assistance Card and App. The Thistle Card and App has been developed to make using public transport easier for older people or those with disabilities or illness.
The aim of the Thistle Assistance Card and App is to help anyone who has difficulty in using public transport because of their age, disability or illness. It will quickly and easily tell the bus driver about any extra help you may need during your journey.
The Card and App is supported by a wide range of voluntary organisations and most bus operators in Tayside and Central Scotland.
How does the Thistle Assistance Card and App work?
Enclosed with the card are some peel-off stickers which show different disabilities (square stickers) and the type of help you need (rectangular stickers).
- When using public transport, show the card to the bus driver, who will then be able to quickly see what assistance you need.
- On the back of the card you can add any extra details that you may think will be useful to the bus driver.
- Please show the card clearly to the driver.
The App is downloadable for Android enabled devices from the Google Play Store (opens new window).
Please note that the Thistle Assistance Card and App is for information only and does not mean that you get a concessionary or discounted fare.
The Thistle Assistance Card packs are available, free of charge, from Council offices and libraries throughout Perth and Kinross, and from a number of local voluntary and community organisations.
