Kinloch Rannoch Demand Responsive Transport

The Kinloch Rannoch Demand Responsive Transport Service (DRT2) is an on-demand transport service operating in the Kinloch Rannoch and Rannoch Station area. DRT2 operates within a defined area and time period and does not follow a fixed route or timetable.

Who can use it?

Just like an ordinary local bus service, it is available to all members of the public for any eligible journey.

The scheme will not convey school pupils whose journey purpose relates to attending Pitlochry High School, Breadalbane Academy or any local primary school at normal school start and finish times, including journeys feeding into existing school buses. The scheme will also not convey pupils or staff as part of an organised school trip.

It is generally expected that no more than one return trip per day is taken by a passenger.

How do I book it?

Phone the taxi operator at least 24 hours prior to your journey (every effort will be made to accommodate passengers making bookings at shorter
notice).  You will need to state when you want to travel, where you are going to and from, journey purpose and provide a contact phone number.

If you have a fixed appointment you can book your journey up to four weeks in advance of the date of travel.

All journeys required for young people under 16 years of age must be booked by their parent/carer. In addition, all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the whole journey.

Where can I use the Service?

DRT2 will operate between any two points within the Service area - see map.

No journey can be made wholly within the restricted area of Kinloch Rannoch - see map

When is the Service available?

DRT2 will operate Monday to Saturday between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm.

There is no Service on a Sunday or 24, 25, 26 and 31 December or 1-2 January in any year.

There will be a reduced level of availability during schooldays between 7.30 am - 9.15 am and 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm.

Will it pick me up from my house?

DRT2 will only operate on the public highway and will not travel on private roads. At the time of booking the exact pick-up point and destination should be agreed with the operator.
