The recently completed improvement of the Potterhill play area in Perth has local children's seal of approval on it, literally, thanks to the creativity of pupils from nearby Kinnoull Primary School.
On Monday 22 June 2026, the winning design for new signage to welcome play area users was unveiled following a competition for children at the school organised by the Council's Community Greenspace team.
The overall look of the revamped play area has been developed in consultation with local communities. Upgraded play equipment and improved access to the facility have been accompanied by new landscaping on site including wildflower and fruit tree planting to further enhance children and families' outdoor experience.
P2 pupil Luan, who created the winning design, helped Councillor Peter Barrett and staff from Community Greenspace to unveil the new sign alongside runners-up Arthur (P5) and Elizabeth (P6), who were joined by Depute Provost Andrew Parrott and Councillor Liz Barrett. All three children received prizes of a gift voucher and wildflower seed to plant at home.
