The Scottish Government Reaching 100% (R100) programme is currently upgrading connections throughout Scotland to reach a minimum of 30 Megabits per second (Mbps) connection speed to all homes and businesses. The UK Government's Project Gigabit programme is currently in procurement and will upgrade speeds to at least 100Mbps.
Download speeds under 10Mbps are not considered acceptable broadband access. Those under 10Mbps may be eligible for support under the Universal Service Obligation.
