Employment information - Occupational health

People Asset Management (PAM) provides advice to the Council and its employees with regard to fitness for work, prevention of work-related ill health and the promotion of good health.  This is an OH-led Nurse service which includes:

  • management referrals - for advice on short or long term absences and general management advice regarding an employee's wellbeing.
  • new Employment Health Assessments - when an offer has been made to a potential employee, their fitness for work is assessed.
  • health surveillance - job specific assessments such as Hand and Arm Vibrations (HAVS), Audio Screening and Heb B Vaccines.
  • physiotherapy - is available for musculoskeletal disorders where the condition is being occupationally caused or made worse.
  • counselling - is available for employees to help in treating their mental health.
