Purpose
To advise elected members on the outcome of internal interviews for an interim Strategic Lead - Education and Learning following the departure of Sheena Devlin.
Briefing Information
Following an internal interview process, Bernadette Martin-Scott has been appointed as Interim Strategic Lead - Education and Learning/ Chief Education Officer, with effect from Monday 2 December 2024.
Bernadette has worked in a number of roles across our schools and education services, and is currently Service Manager - Early Education and Childcare.
As the process of recruiting a permanent replacement for Sheena Devlin continues, Bernadette will provide important leadership for our education teams during this transitional period.
As an experienced member of our team Bernadette brings with her a great deal of knowledge and understanding of our local priorities which will ensure we can continue the work begun under Sheena's leadership.
The permanent post of Strategic Lead - Education and Learning is currently being advertised, with the job advert closing on Sunday. Interviews are scheduled to take place before Christmas after which a start date will be agreed with the successful candidate.
