Kinross area path closures

  • Loch Leven Heritage Trail path closure (PDF) [353KB] .  Work to upgrade and repair the LLHT will take place from February - March 2024.  During this period the trail will be closed between the Boathouse Pier, Todd & Duncan and the Sluice House gate at Findatie.  The only practical diversion whilst the Trail is closed will be via the local public roads.  Further information on the progress of the work can be found on the TRACKS website Kinross-tracks.org.uk .

  • In order for major path works to be carried out on land affect by the 2021 landslide, core path PTMK/133 which leads up the sleeping giant at Benarty will be closed for approximately 8 weeks from 18th September 2023.  While a Sleeping Giant signed diversion (PDF) [101KB]  will be in place, please note that this may be problematic for cyclists as there are a number of large steps to negotiate.  This will be especially important to note if you plan to take the route from the Fife side of the hill.

  • Please be aware that the car park at Glen Sherup woodland (PDF) [3MB]  will close in the early evening at 7pm each day.

Occasionally paths may be closed to the public due to events taking place in the surrounding area.   Current exemption orders can be viewed on our rights and responsibilities page.

If you come across any problems on the paths, including signposts and path furniture such as stiles and gates, please report them to us by contacting communitygreenspace@pkc.gov.uk or calling 01738 475000
