The Council's commitment to equality in employment, including compliance with the Equality Act (2010) is reflected in our employment policies, procedures and practices. These are subject to the findings of Equality Impact Assessments using the Integrated Appraisal Toolkit which are used to inform the HR policy development and review process.
Equal pay audits are undertaken every other year for all employee groups, i.e. Single Status, Craft, Teachers and Chief Officers and acted upon as required. These cover the protected characteristics of age, gender, disability, ethnicity and maternity & pregnancy. There is a commitment to extend the monitoring and analysis to other protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act (2010).
To access the employment monitoring, analysis and reporting that is undertaken and published on our Human resources management information page.
