On 18 September 2014, a referendum was held on independence for Scotland.

Votes cast in Perth and Kinross:

  • Yes: 41,475
  • No: 62,714
  • Rejected: 96

The reasons for rejection were:

  • No official mark: 0
  • Voting for both answers to referendum question: 16
  • Anything by which voter can be identified: 1
  • Unmarked or void for uncertainty: 79

The turnout for Perth and Kinross has been confirmed as 86.9%. 104,285 people voted out of a total electorate of 120,049.
