Choosing childcare is an important step for any parent or carer. Finding the "right" option - the one that is right for you, your child and that fits in with your work, study or family life - can be challenging.

Whatever type of childcare arrangement you choose, you need to be confident that your child will be well looked after, happy and safe, in a stimulating environment where they can learn and develop through play.

There are various options for childcare for school age children in the different areas of Perth & Kinross during school term time and over the holidays.  The determining factor is usually finding a service which is based in or drops children off at / picks them up from the school your child attends.

Out of School Care

Out of School Clubs offer childcare after school hours during term time, usually until 6:00 pm. Some clubs also run on In-Service days, during school holidays and before school. Most clubs are based in school premises and cater for children from Primary One to their second year at Secondary school.  There are currently 16 Out of School Clubs throughout the Perth & Kinross area, these can be found on Find my nearest childcare providers.

Wraparound Care Services based at schools in Crieff, Luncarty and at Inch View in Perth also cater for children up to P7.

Breakfast Clubs

Breakfast Clubs care for children on school premises before the start of school each morning.  Most Breakfast Clubs are run by the Local Authority and offer a healthy breakfast as well as supervised activities.  Check if your school offers a breakfast club on Find my nearest childcare providers.

Childminders
