The TCAC Team support young people aged 16-26 who are in care, in a continuing care placement (Through Care) or have left care (After Care). This team also supports Children who are Alone and Seeking Asylum (CASA).

CREST

CREST is a team of independent Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) and Lifelong Links Coordinators. The team provide Lifelong Links to looked after and accommodated children and young people in PKC and Family Group Decision Making to children, young people and families who are open to social work in PKC. They work in partnership with families and professionals to support building relationships, enabling families to have their voices heard and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

Kinship Care Advice Service for Scotland (KCASS)

KCASS provides free, confidential advice to Kinship families and professionals who are working with them, including financial support, wellbeing and trauma resources, and legal support.

Kinship Care Helpline (Parents and Carers)

The Kinship Care Helpline, run by ParentLine Scotland, is a national confidential helpline and web-chat service staffed by trained call-takers for kinship carers who need advice and support for a child or young person, including mental health and wellbeing issues.

The Educational Psychology Service aims to enhance the learning, development and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Perth and Kinross. Aberlour (Sustain Family Support)

Aberlour provide family support throughout Perth & Kinross for families with children and young people (0 - 18 years).  This can include the development of parenting skills, routines and boundaries, improving home conditions and financial support. Referrals are usually made through the PKC Child Protection Duty Team.

Barnardo's (Hopscotch)

Barnardo's Hopscotch provides 1:1 emotional support for children and young people aged 5-18 impacted by parental substance use. They can give advice and information on the impact of high risk behaviours, such as drug or alcohol misuse, violence and domestic abuse.

Barnardo's (Space4U)

Barnardo's Space4U can provide support for children and young people up to the age of 16 who are affected by parental substance use, parental mental health and who may be living in households where there is domestic abuse. They use a whole family approach by offering support to parents and carers, building on strengths, helping to reduce risks and promote positive change.  Referrals have to come through Social Work or Education.

Buttons and Bows Baby Bank

The Buttons and Bows Baby Bank is a local charity in Perth & Kinross that supports families experiencing financial difficulties.  They can provide families with essential items to care for their babies and children, including nappies and wipes, and nearly new clothes, bedding, cots and toys.

CREST

Families Empowering Communities

Families Empowering Communities (FEC) provides focussed and holistic early intervention and prevention support for families living in the Letham, Blairgowrie, Bertha Park, Muirton and Crieff areas of Perth & Kinross.  Community and universal activities help families to feel connected and make the best use of community supports.  One to one support for parents is also available to provide emotional support, help build parenting skills and strengthen relationships within the family.

Homestart

Homestart is a voluntary organisation which promotes the welfare of families with at least one child under 5.  Trained volunteers who have parenting experience work with families to build relationships and respond to the needs of the individual families. Peer support is also provided through the Breast Buddies programme, a mum-to-mum peer support service which promotes breastfeeding.

Relationships Scotland: Tayside and Fife

Relationships Scotland supports people from the youngest to the oldest in Perth and Kinross and wider Tayside and Fife, who are facing relationship problems and high family conflict, including parental separation. Parent Club is an online resource provided by the Scottish Government which contains tips and advice on a range of topics such as childcare, behaviour, food and eating, money and work, and supporting your child's early development.

Relationships Scotland

Relationships Scotland provide relationship counselling, family mediation and child contact centre services across Scotland.  They can support families experiencing relationship problems, where parents are separating or divorcing or to support contact with children following a family breakup.

Safe Families

Safe Families offer volunteer-led support that takes lonely and overwhelmed families and connects them with trained and supported volunteers from within their local community. Our volunteers can be flexible around the family's needs, with no pressure on the time taken to build trust and total flexibility regarding when and how support takes place.

Perth and Kinross Council - Adult Support and Protection

Our Adult support and protection section can help if you are concerned about an adult (16+) who might be "at risk" of harm.  This can include incidents within the care sector, or where an adult has a physical or learning disability, mental health concern or is frail.  Harm may be physical, emotional, sexual, financial or caused by neglect.  Further support is available from Adult Social Work and Social Care, or you can speak to a health professional or Police Officer. The CEOP website has information on what to do if you are worried about online sexual abuse, or the way someone has communicated with you online, and information on how to report your concerns.

Internet matters

Internet Matters provides information and advice on how to support children online, including setting up devices, managing online issues and tips about online safety.

NSPCC

NSPCC Is a charity dedicated to keeping children safe.  It provides support and guidance if you are concerned about a child or young person.

Stop IT Now! Scotland is a child protection charity that aims to prevent sexual abuse by raising awareness among parents and community members.  They can provide confidential advice if you are worried about a child or young person, and support services to individuals at risk of sexual offending, and to their friends and families.

The Community Learning and Development Team support community organisations to take part in local partnerships and engage with their wider communities.  They can assist in developing the skills and capacity of community groups and volunteers.

Broke Not Broken

Broke not Broken are an anti-poverty charity aimed at tackling the effects of poverty in Kinross-shire.  They provide a School Uniform project at the beginning of the summer holidays, and winter clothing support in October, and can help with energy support payments with referrals, and energy advice.

Perth Shopmobility

Perth Shopmobility lends wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters to people with long-term and short-term mobility problems. We can also provide raised leg extensions, useful for fractured legs. Equipment can be hired for the day, a weekend away or even for several weeks.

The Hub (Letham)

The Hub in Letham offers a vibrant community space for residents of north Perth which is designed to cater to a variety of needs. Our Children and Disability Social Work is a small and specialist team of Social Workers and Senior Social Care Officers who aim to engage with, and support children, young people and families at the earliest opportunity. They can provide advice and guidance, assessments, support from the SHINE  team and self-directed support as appropriate.

The SHINE Outreach Team works primarily with children and young people aged between 0-18yrs who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or are awaiting an assessment from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).   Anyone can make a referral to the service through the referral process, although consent from a parent/carer is required.

The Perth & Kinross ADHD Support Group provides practical support for families struggling with ADHD, including advocacy, signposting and family support.  A programme of social events enables individuals and families to support each other, and information services provide advice and guidance for families.

The Scottish Welfare Fund Team administers Crisis Grants and Community Care Grants on behalf of Scottish Government which aim to provide a safety net in an emergency when there is an immediate threat to health and safety through the provision of Crisis Grants (cash to tide households over until their next payment), and enable independent living or continued independent living, preventing the need for institutional care through the provision of Community Care Grants (usually the provision of domestic items).

Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH)
