Quality panel

We offer formal and informal training sessions to support tenants

Our Residents' Academy training sessions support tenants to become more informed about the Council's responsibilities as a landlord, and increase their confidence to scrutinise and challenge how we do this.

Graduates from the Residents' Academy can go on to become part of our Quality Panel. The Quality Panel is made up of volunteers who carry out reality checks on the Council landlord services, which helps us to improve our services to tenants.

The Quality Panel looks at how services actually impact on the people who receive them.

Checks by the Quality Panel have already fed in to our  review of Sheltered Housing (PDF) [176KB] services, review of garage sites and lock-ups, and also form part of our checks on empty properties which are going to be re-let.

Quality Panel members may also be asked to give their feedback on specific Council services, such as:

  • local area offices
  • the management and maintenance of parks, roads and footpaths in their area
  • how empty properties are managed
  • repairs
  • major improvement programmes.

For more information on training opportunities, or the Quality Panel, please contact our Tenant Participation Team.
