Complaints about food
In addition to routine food inspections, the food team will respond to complaints about individual food items purchased within Perth and Kinross.
The purpose of investigation is to establish why the complaint arose and to ensure that manufacturers of food are complying with their duty to provide safe food.
Once a complaint has been received the officer will contact you to discuss the circumstances and may collect the food from you for analysis. They may also however, refer you directly to the manufacturer since most food business welcome comments and feedback regarding their products.
A member of our food team will ask you a number of questions regarding the time and place of purchase, if there is any proof of purchase such as a receipt and whether there was a witness to purchase.
