We are currently in the process of carrying out a new Local House Condition Survey. The survey is being carried out on a sample of 600 local households (owner occupied and private rented) between November 2022 to July 2023.
The purpose of the survey is to understand the condition of local housing so that we can attain targets set by Scottish Government around housing quality, energy efficiency standards and fuel poverty. This will help us :
- Implement the updated Local Housing Strategy
- Determine how we can target resources to assist owner occupiers, private landlords and its own tenants to maintain and improve their properties.
- Address fuel poverty
We have one again commissioned David Adamson and Partners to undertake the survey. If your home is chosen as part of the survey you will receive a letter informing you of what it will involve.
In order to obtain an accurate picture of all housing it is important that as many households as possible take part. The survey is voluntary and householders' assistance will be greatly appreciated. However, should you not wish to take part simply call the Freephone telephone number 0800 056 1051 and give the reference number quoted after the address in the notification letter, and your address will be taken off the sample list.
If you agree to take part in the survey householders are advised to ask to see the surveyor's ID badge when they visit. If you are uncertain, please contact the Freephone telephone number and a member of staff will clarify the surveyor's identity for you.
Surveyors may call between 9.30am and 8pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm on Saturday, and on Sunday by appointment only.
A Local House Condition Survey on the local social rented sector has already been completed and the results are being collated.
