Fairer Communities for All

Fairer Communities for All is a new process for distributing the Community Investment Fund and Locality Participatory Budgeting Fund, designed to make it easier for communities to shape local projects and influence how local funding is spent.

We're working closely with communities across Perth and Kinross to find real, practical solutions to the cost-of-living crisis. Together, we'll build fairer, stronger communities. By sharing your priorities and ideas to help with the cost of living, you can help shape the future of your community. We will collaborate with local community groups and organisations to bring your ideas to life.

How much is available?

For the financial year 2025 to 2026 period, over £347,000 had been allocated across the 12 Perth and Kinross Wards to support community-led projects that address the cost-of-living challenges and build a better future. Since the initial allocation, the total funding in each area has been increased by £8,333.33 thanks to funding from the NHS Charitable Foundation and the overall total available is now £447,000.00.

How can I get involved?

We are pleased to let you know that we are now moving into the collaborative phase of the Fairer Communities for All process.

Communities in each Council ward have shared their priorities with us during the engagement phase. Using this feedback, we are now inviting community groups and organisations in the area to come together to explore opportunities for projects that target the cost of living.

These projects will be put to a public vote and will be funded through the Community Investment Fund and Participatory Budgeting Funds for 2025 to 2026.

If your group/organisation would like to work with others and share your project ideas that meet the criteria above, please register your interest in attending your ward collaboration meeting by completing the online registration form.

Project themes that were shared in the engagement phase are as follows:

  • Access to training for volunteers
  • Activities and resources for those facing additional challenges
  • Activities for children and young people
  • Community cooking skills
  • Community events
  • Community transport
  • Digital inclusion (access)
  • Money skills for everyday life
  • Physical and social wellbeing
  • Repair and upcycling of clothing/household items
  • Skills for work
  • Warm spaces in winter
  • Work across generations
