Your UC Journal

Find out more about the UC Journal

When you make a claim for UC you will need to create a username and password and to choose two security questions. You should keep a record of this information somewhere safe and secure as you will need this information each time you log in to your UC Journal. The Journal has two main purposes:

  • It keeps a history of everything you've done on your To Do list
  • It is where you will communicate with your Work Coach e.g. reporting a change of circumstances

You should log in to your Journal regularly and you should receive email notifications to check your Journal so that you can complete tasks on your To Do list. If you do not complete the tasks on your To Do list then your UC may be stopped or sanctioned.

For more information on the UC Journal, view the DWP's short video:

Making a complaint

If you are not happy about the service you have received from Universal Credit including how you have been treated, mistakes that have been made, unreasonable delays or not being kept informed you can complain online.
