Purpose

This briefing note provides an update on the progress of acquisitioning land at Braco for a replacement primary school.  

Briefing Information

Agreement has been reached with the landowner at Braco on the option to purchase an area of land.  The final purchase transaction will be subject to obtaining planning consent to build the new school.  This agreement is also subject to a time period of 24 months, with the possibility of a six-month extension. 

The Design Team have been appointed to progress the design of the new school, the programme and the planning process.  Money has been drawn down by the Finance and Resource Committee, 1 October 2025, for the acquisition and the wider project. 

Further engagement with the school, the Community Council and the wider community will be undertaken at the appropriate stages.
