Elected Member Briefing Note 2025, No. 54

About this Briefing Note

Report by: Elaine Ritchie, Strategic Lead, Housing and Communities

Date: 19th May 2025

Subject: Launch of consultation on local bus transport

Purpose

The purpose of this briefing is to provide information on a public consultation being held to support the Public Transport Transformation project.

Briefing Information

We issued you an update on the Public Transport Transformation project on 7 May 2025.

As a further update, a public consultation has now been launched inviting residents to share their views and experiences of local bus travel aimed at improving public transport across the region.

We are seeking input from anyone who currently uses, has previously used, or would like to use local bus services. Feedback gathered will play a vital role in designing a new, community-focused public transport model for Perth and Kinross that is integrated, accessible, reliable, efficient, and effective.

The consultation opened on Monday 19 May and will run until Friday 18 July. It is available online through our Consultation Hub and paper copies can be requested by calling 01738 476476 or at local libraries.

Communications will be issued throughout the duration of the consultation to encourage people to take part.

Roadshows and transport focus groups will then be held across Perth and Kinross later in the year to gather further information and feedback.
