Purpose and Scope of Guidance
The Ancillary & Annex Accommodation Supplementary Guidance 2021 (PDF, 152 KB) is non-statutory guidance which has been prepared to support Local Development Plan Policy 1: Placemaking.
Policy 1 requires that development should contribute positively to the surrounding built & natural environment. The purpose of the guidance is to assist planners, architects and the public in applications for ancillary accommodation. The Guidance was approved by the Council's Strategic Policy & Resources Committee on the 24 November 2021.
Strategic Environmental Assessment
As part of the process we have to consult NatureScot, SEPA and Historic Environment Scotland on whether the plan, programme or strategy is likely to raise issues of significant environmental impact.
We sent our Screening Report (PDF, 159 KB) to the consultation authorities on 23 April 2021 to help determine whether the guidance is likely to have significant effects on the environment. The consultation authorities have assessed the screening report and agreed that the guidance is unlikely to have any significant effects on the headline environmental issues. A Screening Determination (PDF, 178 KB) has been issued to the SEA Gateway.
