Finding out about which benefits you could get and how to claim them can often be complicated.

You will need to have your income, savings and other personal details to hand in order to use the calculators.

General benefits

Turn2us is a charity that helps people in financial need to access welfare benefits, grants and other financial help.  You can use the Turn2Us benefits calculator to find out what benefits you could get and how to claim them. 

Tax credits - Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit

The HMRC's tax credit calculator to provide an estimate of how much you could get in tax credits.   If it looks like you qualify, you'll be able to order a tax credits claim form

Housing benefit and / or Council Tax reduction. 

You may wish to check out if there are any additional ways in which your Council Tax bill can be further reduced through the many  Council tax discounts and exemptions that exist.  

Older people

If you have reached state pension credit age, you can use Rights Advice Scotland's benefit calculator to find out if you are missing out on pension credit.  It will also calculate your entitlement to Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction.
