Details

Purpose

This Briefing Note provides an update on an incident involving a school bus taking children to Abernyte Primary School on the morning of 8 January.

Briefing Information

A bus, operated by Redline Coaches, went off the road on the way to Abernyte Primary School this morning due to the icy conditions.

Nobody was injured in the accident, which occurred on the road between Abernyte and Rait just before 9am.

There were around eight or nine pupils on board at the time of the incident.

The school has contacted the parents of all involved advising them of the incident and requesting they collect their children and drop them off at school.

A parent of one of the pupils living nearby took all the children into their house so they did not have to wait in the cold while waiting for collection.

A bus service will operate as normal on Thursday afternoon and the Roads Maintenance Partnership is being contacted with a request to treat the road.

A recovery vehicle is en route to retrieve the coach.
