Purpose

This Briefing Note provides members with an update on protests outside hotels providing accommodation to people seeking asylum

Briefing Information

A protest against hotels being used to provide accommodation for people seeking asylum is expected in Perth on Saturday.

the protest is expected to start outside the Queen's Hotel at 10.30am.

Police Scotland will have resources in place to respond to the protest and Council officers are on standby to assist if required.

Mears will also have additional staff on site.

No counter protest is expected.
