Purpose

This Briefing Note is being issued to draw attention to the 24/25 Standards and Quality overview of the Educational Psychology Service. The format of a short media presentation explains in a clear and concise format the breadth and depth of the work of the service. 

Briefing Information

The Educational Psychology Service is a statutory service under the 1980 Education (Scotland) Act with a duty to give advice on the meeting of additional support needs.  All educational establishments have a link Educational Psychologist.

In accordance with national guidance and good practice the service supports the work of Education and Learning at a variety of levels including development work, professional learning and staff support, in addition to the work with children, young people and families. Much of this work is centred around inclusion and mental health.
