Purpose
This Briefing Note provides members with an update on a protest being planned for the evening of 9 June in Perth in response to an attack in Belfast on Monday 8 June.
Briefing Information
A protest has been called for Perth at 7pm on Tuesday, 9 June in response to an attack on a man in Belfast on Monday evening.
One man remains in police custody in connection with the incident.
Protestors are being asked to meet on the South Inch.
Protests have been called in dozens of UK towns and cities including Dundee, Aberdeen, and Glasgow in Scotland. They appear to have been organised by a Facebook group called "British Unity."
Organisers of recent protests over accommodation for people seeking in asylum in Perth are promoting the Perth event.

The Big Kid Circus, which is setting up on the South Inch ahead of its first performance tomorrow, has also been notified.

On Saturday around 40 anti-asylum protesters demonstrated out the Station Hotel in Perth. Many are understood to have travelled to Perth from other parts of Scotland.
More than 100 counter protesters also attended.
