Subject: Proposed EIS industrial action called off
Details
Purpose
To provide elected members with an update following today's announcement that the EIS union has called off industrial action which would have impacted Perth and Kinross schools next week.
Briefing Information
We have now been informed that the EIS has announced the suspension of all planned industrial action on Reduced Class Contact Time, following an agreement being reached between the EIS, the Scottish Government and COSLA.
A draft agreement, approved earlier this week by both the EIS and the Scottish Government, was formally approved by COSLA Leaders at their meeting earlier today, following which EIS confirmed that planned industrial action at Perth and Kinross schools on both 19 and 25 March have been cancelled.
After individual risk assessments of the potential impact on a school by school basis parents/carers had received emails yesterday afternoon/this morning advising on arrangements next week, ahead of this cancellation. They are now being advised that all schools will open as normal.
