Continued heavy rain this evening has led to a number of incidents to which the Council has been responding.

St Cedd's Road, Ballinluig

A pump and sandbags were deployed by the Roads Maintenance Partnership to properties following today's prolonged rain. An elderly resident was evacuated a short distance to a family member's home with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

45 sandbags were deployed here and the flow of water was diverted from a property. With storm conditions and very heavy rain, the local Community Resilience Group in the Aberfeldy area is maintaining a watching brief overnight.

The Alyth Burn has overtopped and the local Community Resilience Group has deployed, providing sandbags and going door to door to residents. Staff from Tayside Contracts and the Council's Community Support and Enforcement Team are also on site. Work is ongoing to divert the flow of water away from properties.
